sorry for the lack of activity STILL, college is ...... whoa. WHOA. whoa. gonna die. I'm SOOO busy it's not even funny. I keep having nervous/panic breakdowns.

But I won't go into details.

And I do read all the comments you people leave, I just lack the time to reply as of late, but I really do feel grateful that you even give me any attention at all (which baffles me). Love to all of yous, thank you guys ♥

Anyway. So ACen is early May, and I want to be prepared before last minute this time. So I wanted to ask you guys, what do you buy at the artist tables? Or, what would you like to see me offer?

I want to offer a decent variety, but I don't know what's worth making a few/alot of or whats worth making at all.

Last time all I had was a few different bookmarks, a few 4x6ish sized prints, and a good handful of 8.5x11 prints. This year, I think I might do some buttons/pins (omg, i have no idea what of though. what would you guys like to see if I did it?), and maybe a few 11x17 prints, but do you guys acutally buy those? (I do, but that's me and I'm weird). I know people like smaller prints so I'm going to offer more of those, but what about the larger ones?

Uhh what else. Oh. Is there anything else you think would be something good to offer? I know some artists do keychains, but I have noooo clue how to do those, so uh yeah ahahah. But yeah. Throw me ideas! Suggestions! Even suggestions on which pieces you think would make good prints/buttons/whatever.

Sorry for all the questions! But I know alot of you are con goers or actually HAVE tables at cons too, and I'd love some help. And chances are, I'll probably offer leftovers on LJ and here on DA from what doesn't sell (or maybe even before, to help pay for the cost making more) /FAIL

holy crap I wish I can see you at a con T^T!!! but uh uh...buttons..? er...I'm the type of people who buy prints only or ask for comission if they offer one ^^; so its really hard to say from the con-goers point of view....but I do think little things would be easier to be sold and bought. :D Personally I don't think anything wrong with just bookmark and different print sizes  or maybe its just me being unoriginal with ideals orz

Well I never really buy stuff at cons because I rarely see stuff that interests me (I'm a picky bitch). But in terms of selling stuff from my own experience and what I see from other artists; cheaper=better. It doesn't really matter what you sell as long as it's affordable. If you consider that the average con-goers are kids/tweens, they probably have less then $100 dollars to spend. They probably want to go to the dealers room and buy like DVD's, figures, etc. which doesn't leave them a lot of money to spend at artists alley. The likeliness of them buying a $10 print is pretty slim. I'm not saying that no one will buy expensive stuff but you'll probably sell more if you aim for the lowest price you can manage and still be profitable. In this case print-quality and the like don't really matter. A friend of mine made over $1000 selling crappy laser copied prints. And little knick-knack things sell better too, like bookmarks and keychains and stuff god I could just keep on ranting so I'll shut up now > _<;)

HEYHEY! Yeah! Buttons are really good ideas and they sell really well. QUICK COMMISSIONS TOO! Omg, they don't have to be the most detailed things in the world, but they're amazing. 8|

But this year at Anime Detour something that also did really well was like, "Make your own Button" They had little circles the size of the button to put the picture in, and if they wanted to draw them in themselves they could, or they could just request something for a little more. It was a really good idea.

Other then that yeah prints.

The problem with commissions is people request fanart like it's nobodies business. So if you were to do quick ones, you'd probably have to brush up on characters.. Like Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, and Bleach. (They'd be like pchat quality. You might not think they're that great but people EAT IT UP!)

Ahaha.. Yeah.. That's all I got. Buttons = GOOD; Prints = ALWAYS GOOD ; Commission = Yeah..

P.S. HATS OMFG HATS .__.

acutally last year when I did sketch commissions, no one requested fanart, people wanted their own characters so I was like YES AHah. And they always gave me ref~~

omg someone last year had the make your own button thing, it was pretty cool. If I had enough money to invest in a button maker I'd think about it, but since someone at acen already does it it wont be as profitable as it would be, and button makes range in the hundreds.

HATS? WHAT HATS?

Oh really? No fanart.. That's.. Aamazing. :'D That makes me happy beyond words. Well in that case, I'd totally do commissions then.

Aaaw :\ Yeah button makers are expensive.

HATS! They are Fleece and and AMAZING. I don't know I'm just throwing any and all ideas out there. @A@ Personally I'd be happy just being able to commish and buy prints.. but I guess there has to be SOMETHING to pull the masses.. either that or a very loud sales pitch. Haha.

Cute, unique plushies, Original artwork, buttons, small comics of originial artwork, cute stationary.

I hate fanart, but I think I'm in the minority there.
